Automation ScientistTouchlight are seeking to hire a Automation Scientist
Your principal role will be to take ownership of an automated liquid handling platform. While you will be working within the platform discovery team of the Platform Research department, you will have the opportunity to interface with members of our therapeutic and manufacturing groups across the company.
In this role you will be expected to operate, maintain, and develop protocols for the automated platform, with an initial focus on designing screening experiments to improve the efficiency of a number of molecular biology processes. Beyond that, you will be responsible (under guidance) for developing multiplex dbDNA amplification reactions, and will be expected to be proactive in seeking out opportunities to deploy your expertise to add value at all levels of the business.
Qualifications and experience:
· Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in molecular biology (or a related discipline), and several years’ further experience either in an academic (i.e. Masters & PhD) or an industrial setting
· Candidates must have robust experience in automation of molecular biology techniques or operating a liquid handling platform in a laboratory environment
· Experience in purification and assaying of nucleic acids, as well as a knowledge of experimental design and GMP requirements are highly desirable
· The successful candidate will be bringing ideas to life, and must therefore be engaged with the science, adaptable to new approaches, and eager to work with a fast-moving team.
All candidates should possess clear communication and presentation skills and an ability to work effectively as an individual and in a team environment. Successful candidates will also be proficient in organising and managing their work and delivering results to established timelines.
